Tuesday, 26. Avg 2014.

After Mercator, Fructal and Droga Kolinska, the last Slovenian socialist giant, Gorenje, is no longer domestic company.

After successful transition and three capital increases with total value of EUR 36,6 mil implemented in the previous year and a half, now foreigners have acquired 51,9% of ownership stake in Gorenje, Poslovni dnevnik reports.

In Velenje-based company which has been producing household appliances for more than half a century, the International Financial Organization (IFC) s 11, 8% and Japanese Panasonic with 9, 5%, in late 2012 have the biggest majority stakes supported by the foreign capital.

The 1H 2014 business report shows data that the starting capital totals EUR 101, 9 mil.

In half of the year, Gorenje generated profit of EUR 601 mil which is, compared to the same period 2013, an increase of 1, 8%. EBITDA jumped significantly more, 17, 2%, to EUR 43, 1 mil totalled EUR 3, 1 mil. Since in the last half of the year Gorenje showed loss of EUR 7, 8 mil, this year, as for now, has brought more positive trends.

Polson dnevnik reports that the best illustration of resisiting new owners’arrival is a multi-year saga related to Mercator which is becoming a part of Agrokor.

The European Commission these days is insisting on bankruptcy of Elan due to illegal subsidies and a package of 15 companies with the state-owned majority stake whose privatziations were halted by reecnet outstanding parlametarian elections is waiting for the new Prime Minister, Miro Cerar.
