Nidec Looking for Location for Construction of Factory Worth Nearly USD 2 Billion

Tuesday, 23. Feb 2021.

Representatives of the Japanese company Nidec have continued negotiations about the investment of this company in Serbia in Novi Sad, and the potential locations for the future facility were discussed at a meeting with the mayor of Novi Sad, Milos Vucevic. The mayor reminded on his Instagram profile that the investment would be worth nearly USD 2 billion and that the plan was to buy 25 hectares of land in the Industrial Zone North 4.

– Today, I had the great privilege to welcome Mister Kintaro Izumida, Vice President of the Japanese Nidec, a company which is one of the global leaders in the production of electric engines for vehicles of new generation, and show him a few business locations that might suit them – Vucevic wrote.

He added that highly qualified graduates would also find jobs at the new factory and that up to 300,000 units would be produced by 2023.

– With this, our city is becoming a first-rate regional center, the problem of unemployment will almost disappear, and I am especially glad that highly qualified graduates from our technical faculties would get another place to work at, with remarkable possibilities for professional development – Vucic wrote.

Let us remind that it was recently confirmed that the Japanese giant was coming to Novi Sad.

Nidec is a Japanese corporation that produces electric engines and has the biggest share in the global market when it comes to spindle motors for hard drives.

Since 2017, the company has had 296 branch offices in Japan, as well as throughout Asia, Europe and America.
