Friday, 17. Mar 2023.

Naftna Industrija Srbije (NBS) has published the tender for the preparation of the project-technical documentation for the construction of the facility for the production of hydrogen.

According to the technical task, the plan is to build a facility for the production of blue and green hydrogen (plus oxygen as a secondary product), near the Elemir Gas Refinery (RGE), with which it will be connected in terms of infrastructure.

The purpose of the project, according to the document, is the sale and/or use of hydrogen as an energy source in facilities or transport means of NIS.

The designer is supposed to prepare conceptual solutions for the full facility for the production of blue and green hydrogen, as well as a line for the exploitation of hydrogen at RGE, the storage and the dispatching, the ecological solutions and the estimate of the costs of the project.

Facility for the production of blue hydrogen

When it comes to the production of blue hydrogen, a facility of a modular type for the steam reforming of methane is planned, that is, a facility for the production of blue hydrogen with a minimum capacity of 275 m3 per hour.

Facility for the production of green hydrogen

For the production of green hydrogen through water electrolysis, a facility of a modular type with a minimum production capacity of 20 m3 per hour, is planned.

Installation for the exploitation of hydrogen as an energy source at RGE

In line with its overall concept, the plan is to install a system for the distribution of hydrogen to the existing consumers of natural gas and the combustion of the mixture at these consumers.
